The Azorean Sea was a dangerous body of water on Merdegraw that had a lot of thunderstorms, rock formations, and even cyclones. It was here Darkwater had his base for operations. The Azorean sea was known for its many pirates. Ratchet and Talwyn were shot out of a cannon and got washed up on Hoolefar Island. At the end of the game Ratchet fought Captain Slag/Darkwater on pirate ships above the Azorean Sea.
