The British Board of Film Classification, or BBFC, is an independent British not for profit organisation, classifying entertainment materials released to the public since 1984 after the passing of the parliamentary Video Recording Act. It had previously been classifying cinema since 1912.[1] Due to the parliamentary act its classifications are legally enforceable, which until recently was not entirely the case for the other organisation used within the United Kingdom: PEGI. Because of this change PEGI became the sole game rating system in the United Kingdom from July 2012.[2]

BBFC and the Ratchet & Clank series

The BBFC only rated one Ratchet & Clank game. Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time was given the rating of U: "Universal - suitable for all" on 22 January 2010.[3][4]
