Chainblade was a colossal gladiator who became famous on Galactic Gladiators, leading its Bio-Division. Its home planet was Snivelak - the same as the Thugs. This implied that they were of the same or similar species.
Chainblade was armed with two great chainblades that he could swing with ease. Before he was defeated by Ratchet and Clank, Chainblade had gone undefeated for 500 straight matches. A recycled Chainblade model was seen in the Insomniac Museum on Burbank (the Museum of Up Your Arsenal), instead of the usual chainblades, he wielded two Plasma Whips instead. Chainblade was seen on the TV screen on planet Oozla.

[edit] How to beat
The easiest way to beat the gladiator was to get in close with the Blitz Gun and keep firing at him, double jumping over his blades. When hovering in the air, you could take out the Gravity Bomb or Lancer to deal damage as the Blitz Gun dealt very little damage and just waste ammo. You could've double jumped over his long-range attacks when he unleashed them. Should you have run out of Blitz Gun ammo, the Chopper would have been a good choice.
A very easy way to beat him (with the least effort!) was to drop a few mini turrets (or the mega variety). These would have taken care of him in a matter of seconds; because all you had to do was to dodge his swords.
The easiest way to defeat him was to fire a single Heavy Bouncer shot at him. It should have killed him almost instantly, if not in Challenge mode.
Another way to beat Chainblade is to use the Decoy Glove then use the Tesla Claw and shoot him until he is defeated!
[edit] Behind the scenes
- A recycled Chainblade model could be seen in the Insomniac Museum of Burbank. This indicated that either Chainblade was going to return in Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal or a boss similar to him was going to be in it (most likely in Annihilation Nation).
- In the Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal Insomniac Museum, you could see Chainblade with Plasma Whips.
