Artemis Zogg's warship was the headquarters of Artemis Zogg in Ratchet & Clank (comic). The large vessel held a Geo-Shift Sphere and the Surinox Shard - components of the Helios Project used to teleport and transport planets into the Artemis Galaxy. The ship is from where Zogg resided and ruled as Galactic President with his subordinate and Chief Warmonger, Vorn Garblak.

The ship was defended by Zogg's legion of deadly warbots and housed a fleet of space fighters piloted by them. Several compact, spherical vessels known as Transport Orbs were housed on the ship and used to transport passengers to and fro nearby locations. The warbots were routinely sent down to newly stolen planets in these transport orbs to pacify the populations for Zogg's rulership.

History[]

Ratchet & Clank (comic)[]

Veldin captured

Zogg's warship uses Helios to transport Veldin to the Artemis Galaxy.

When Qwark left Veldin after Ratchet had declined his call for aid in resolving the crisis, Zogg arrived in orbit aboard his warship. Vorn delivered a message to the inhabitants of Veldin, declaring them now constituents of Zogg's rulership before the planet was transported into the Artemis Galaxy. Once Ratchet and Clank were eventually subdued by Zogg's warbots, Zogg had them brought to his ship on a transport orb, where he thanked them for their services to the universe and had them taken to the Vartax Detention Facilty. When the two escaped three months later, Zogg spoke to the warden, Mr. Klink, via a viewscreen from his warship and had him executed for his failures.

Galactic Rangers comic

The Galactic Rangers track down Zogg's warship and attempt to disable it with an EMP.

Using Helios, Zogg was able to transport himself and his galaxy to evade the Galactic Rangers and their attempts to shutdown his ship with an EMP. Following Zogg's theft of Zaurik, President Phyronix was abducted along with it and Zogg went down to the planet in a transport orb to offer him the role of Vice President of the Artemis Galaxy. Phyronix refused and was put to slavery in Zaurik's Trillium mines while Zogg returned to his warship.

Knowing Veldin as the home of Ratchet and Clank, Zogg transported it to a remote point of deep space away from Helios' sunlight and demanded the duo surrender themselves to him in exchange for sparing the planet. The two agreed and entered a teleport station of Zogg's at the Hestrus Nebula, which transported them to Zogg's warship close to Veldin.

Zogg's Warship Ratchet & Clank Issue 4 Thanks for the Armories

Zogg's warbots engage the galactic defense forces.

After being teleported, Ratchet and Clank's allies began tracking down their location to find them and Zogg's ship. Zogg went back on his word of sparing Veldin and proclaimed an example needed to be made of the planet to stop any future incursion on his galaxy once it is clear what he is prepared to do. Clank then dropped a bomb from his chest cavity and in the chaos the two made a run for the ship's bridge. While being pursued by Zogg's warbots, Ratchet contacted Talwyn and Sasha to begin the attack on Zogg's ship and keep security occupied whilst he and Clank find the shard. Several of Zogg's warbots proceeded to engage the attacking forces in space dogfights.

After Ratchet located the shard, Zogg armed himself with a Plasma Coil and destroyed the ship's geo-shift sphere to prevent them from being able to transport Veldin back to safety. Just as Zogg prepared to execute the two, Talwyn rammed her ship into the bridge and covered Ratchet while he and Clank stole the shard and made it to a transport orb. The two regretfully took the orb down to a now frozen Veldin, while Talwyn was taken prisoner.

Veldin Planetary Defense Center Zogg Warship Comics

General Glahm destroys Zogg's warship using the Veldin Planetary Defenses.

With the loss of the shard and heavy damage to his ship, Zogg was left stranded in deep space away from his galaxy and used Talwyn as a bargaining chip to prevent the galactic defense forces from destroying him. Zogg confronted Talwyn in her cell and taunted her over her father, Max Apogee, before revealing he has sent his warbots down to Veldin in transport orbs to kill Ratchet and Clank and recover the shard. Vorn grew disillusioned with Zogg's increasingly deranged behavior and freed Talwyn so as to help put a stop to his plans. On their way to a transport orb however, Zogg caught them and pursued the two.

After reaching Veldin's planetary defense center, Ratchet found General Glahm, who had also managed to escape his own predicament in a transport orb. Despite pleas from Ratchet, Glahm wanted revenge on Zogg for destroying the Agorian Battleplex and proceeded with destroying his warship. Unbeknownst to anyone, Zogg had taken Talwyn and Vorn hostage and escaped with them in a transport orb just before his ship's destruction.

Transport Orb Docking

Ratchet and Clank's transport orb docks on Zogg's warship.

The large warship contained multiple levels and areas, all of which were heavily guarded by armed warbots. The ship's exterior was defended by a number of Magna-cannons. Artemis Zogg and Vorn Garblak appeared to be the only organic residents of the ship, with the vessel's systems being managed by various workerbots. A map on the warship was written in Markazian.[1]

The rear of the ship held Docking Stations for transport orbs and shuttle fighters. Elsewhere on the ship was a Detainment Wing for those Zogg had taken prisoner and placed into cells. At the bow of the ship was the Bridge - the main control hub from where the Helios Project machinery was operated. Zogg's Presidential Office is from where he often resided and governed the Artemis Galaxy.

Behind the scenes[]

The ship remained unnamed throughout the Ratchet & Clank comic series but was referred to as "Zogg's warship" by Galactic Ranger Squadron Echo-Three-Bravo in Ratchet & Clank: Issue 3: Lost and Spaced.
