How do you delete a save file on ratchet & clank and ratchet & clank: going commando? I have 2 files in each game and I want to delete just one from each. How do you?

  • I think you highlight the one you want to delete from the load game menu, and then click the delete button, which is either circle or triangle. I'm pretty certain it's circle. HunterjHunterj icon Hunterj's Resort 18:26, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

I tried that and nothing happened. — Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek! Orxon DREK CAM! 23:35, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Ah, just highlight your save file on the MAIN PS2 menu (not in-game), press X, and choose "delete". Mobutu4(R) PBoltMy Talk --My Mood 22:59, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

There is no delete option. — Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek! Orxon DREK CAM! 23:58, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

  • There should be if you select your save file on the Memory Card data thing screen (not in the game), then press triangle (I think) for the options menu, then select delete. Hope that works. иιƒкч? 08:18, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I know that. It deletes all your files, though. I want to delete one. — Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek! Orxon DREK CAM! 22:49, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
  • Your PS2 is probably screwed, or you are taking the directions a different direction. Mobutu4(R) Flag of the United StatesMy Talk --My Mood 22:58, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
  • Really, so if you tried my idea, it deleted all of the data.... ok... Hmm. I guess I need to check out my PS2 memory card. Plus, USECD, is your console European or NTSC? Mine is European. иιƒкч? 23:28, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
I have no idea. I'm not the one who bought my PS2, so I have no idea. For every R&C game there is one save icon in your memory card that has everything, all files, options and stuff. Deleting the icon removes everything. All save files, options and stuff. They should have a delete option when you select a file, but they probably didn't add that so annoying sisters (or for me, cousins) don't delete your save games. It sounds weird, but what else? — Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek! Orxon DREK CAM! 03:10, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
  • I think you're trying to delete it using your PS2 and memory card, rather then through the game, I'd try through the game. HunterjHunterj icon Hunterj's Resort 15:12, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
  • You could just overwrite the file by saving a new game over it. HunterjHunterj icon Hunterj's Resort 15:12, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

I was trying to delete it through the game, and if you overwrite a file, it's still there — Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek! Orxon DREK CAM! 17:49, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

How hard can it be? Go on the PS2 Browser, select the memory card, select the game file you want, press TRIANGLE and then press delete. Tigernose--Have a chat!Ratchet VacationHave a look at what I've done! 20:59, 15 February 2009 (UTC)

I'm trying to delete ONE file. Deleting it from the MEMORY CARD removes ALL FILES. I want to delete ONE. Please READ WHAT'S ABOVE!!!!! — Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek! Clankexpansion DREK CAM! 22:09, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
I've also had that same problem but I believe you can't delete only 1 file. HiQuTalk to me! 16:16, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

Finally! Someone who understands, and at least knows what I'm trying to say. — Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek! Miniklunk DREK CAM! 18:03, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
Listen, Drek. Where do you live? It could explain on if you have a North America console or a Euro console. I have a North America console and if you listened closely, Tigernose and me said HIGHLIGHT THE SAVE FILE, PRESS X, AND CHOOSE THE DELETE OPTION! Mobutu4(R) Flag of the United StatesMy Talk --My Mood 00:04, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
I live in North America, and I want to delete one file and deleting it from the memory card deletes all files, and DO NOT TALK LIKE THIS BECAUSE IT REALLY ANNOYS ME AND IT ACTUALLY SEEMS KINDA DUMB (no offense) WHEN YOU TALK LIKE THIS AND MAKE SOMETHING SEEM SO OBVIOUS WHEN YOU'RE EXPLAINING THE WRONG THING. — Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek! • People, this isn't really related, but stop flaming please. иιƒкч? 06:53, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

Ok, well I don't know if anybody has any idea what I want to do now. I have 2 game files. If I delete it from the memory card, both file 1 and file 2 get lost. I want to delete file 2. File 1 I want to keep. There is no delete option in the game. Deleting it from the memory card removes both files. I want to keep file 1. Deleting it from the memory card removes both files. I want to keep file 1. Deleting it from the memory card removes both files. I want to keep file 1. Deleting it from the memory card removes both files. I want to keep file 1. If you're going to answer, read VERY CAREFULLY. Twice. Please. Thank you. — ULTIMATE Supreme EXECUTIVE Chairman Drek! Miniklunk DREK CAM! 02:32, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, Ultimate Supreme Executive Chairman Drek. Insomniac made their little sister protection work too well. It's impossible to delete only one file, unfortunately. The force will still be with you. — Jedi Clank! Clank May the force be with you! 02:10, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh, that's too bad. — ULTIMATE Supreme EXECUTIVE Chairman Drek! Miniklunk DREK CAM! 22:10, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I know. But you just can't remove just one file. Their little sister protection works too well. Good thing they didn't make the PS2 memory cards. — Jedi Clank! Clank May the force be with you! 22:10, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Okay, wait just a minute. I'm confused, what was the last convo about? Jedi Clank, and Drek are the same guys lol. Anyway. Open up the "save game" menu, and highlight the one you want as Hunterj said. Look around, there is sure to be a "delete" button somewhere. Press the delete button and voila. It works on the other games, however I don't own Going Commando/Locked and Loaded so this is just from my experience from generic games of the R&C series.
To your little conversation with Hunterj: Oh, and why did nothing happen? Did you press the right button? I suggest trying again. Thanks,
TIGERCORPGadgetron Site(Headquarters|Products|Apartment) 13:29, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

I pressed the buttons Hunterj said to press when you highlight a file and that didn't work. And there is no delete option. If there is, where is it? — ULTIMATE Supreme EXECUTIVE Chairman Drek! Miniklunk DREK CAM! 14:57, 3 April 2009 (UTC)
What memory card DO you use? Mobutu4(R) LombaxMy Talk --My Mood 02:58, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Ok, well there is no delete button in the game. I'm not trying to delete anything from the memory card. I'm trying to do it through the game, to try and delete 1 file. But there is no delete option for, actually any of the PS2 games. I use just a normal 8MB memory card. It's so weird how Insomniac doesn't allow you to delete a R&C save file, unless you delete all of them when you open up the memory card. — ULTIMATE Supreme EXECUTIVE Chairman Drek! Miniklunk DREK CAM! 21:57, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
  • It is not possible to delete 1 file on the PS2. I usually ignore the ones I want to delete. HiQuTalk to me! 16:25, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
