The Tanglevine Carnation is a weapon that doubles up as a gadget in Secret Agent Clank. It is a carnivorous flower that can be deployed by Clank both to attack enemies, but also to halt spinning machinery in Clank's path.
The Tanglevine Carnation is acquired at the end of "All The Kingpin's Men" in the Azcotal Alley on Rionosis. It can be upgraded up to the Kudzu Tangle at V4, a unique crossbreed between the Tanglevine and seven other known carnivorous plants, which shoots poisonous gas before consuming enemies.

The Tanglevine Carnation appears as a lapel decoration, but hides one of the most vicious flowers from the galaxy of Sunitrope 7. The flower has an unquenchable hunger for robots and aliens alike.[1] The Kudzu Tangle is a crossbreed of the Tanglevine Carnation seven other known carnivorous plants, capable of generating its own poison cloud to weaken its prey before consuming them.[2]

The Tanglevine Carnation when used as a weapon allows it to consume nearby enemies when deployed. This makes it a strategic weapon that functions similarly to a mine, allowing the player to gain a footing in an area as a form of crowd control, but can also be used to tie up a single strong enemy by repeatedly 'eating' it. Early on its main downside is the rate at which one plant can be active, and how long it takes to send out biting plants.
The Tanglevine Carnation can be upgraded to the Kudzu Tangle, which does not release poison cloud to weaken enemies as its description indicates. Rather, the flower will release a cloud when close to expiring, which persist for a little while afterwards. Enemies can then be lured into the cloud if desired, although this in practice only works well on melee foes. The real benefit to the Kudzu Tangle is the increased attack rate of its plants, making it much more effective in crowd control.
