The Lancer was a gun manufactured by MegaCorp. It was MegaCorp's version of Gadgetron's Blaster. The Lancer fired a continuous stream of exploding energy bolts which, individually, were more powerful than the bolts fired from the Lancer's upgraded version. The Lancer traded in both of these qualites for a rapid rate of fire when it upgraded to the Heavy Lancer. During Challenge Mode, if an upgrade was bought, it upgraded again into the Mega Heavy Lancer and the Ultra Heavy Lancer.
Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
This is one of the two default weapons the player uses in the game along with the Gravity Bomb. If the player used the Lancer against all enemies up to and including the first boss on Oozla, it upgraded to the Heavy Lancer after that boss has been defeated.Rather interestingly, if the Lancer has not upgraded to the Heavy Lancer by the time the player defeated the boss on Siberius and caught the thief, Ratchet still used the Heavy Lancer to rescue the Protopet and after the boss in Snivelak, Ratchet still used the Heavy Lancer to free Angela Cross. Qwark used a Lancer similar to Ratchet's Lancer to shoot the Female Infobot while being disguised as Abercrombie Fizzwidget once she revealed his plans.
Ratchet: DeadlockedRatchet grabbed a nearby white Lancer in an attempt to shoot Ace, but Ace stopped him by shocking Ratchet via his Deadlocked Collar. It is unknown where this white Lancer came from, other than its use for defense purposes.
- Interestingly, the Lancer's model in Ratchet & Clank: Going Mobile looks more like the N60 Storm.
- As seen in some beta versions and screenshots from the game, the Lancer's shots were green or blue along with some parts of the weapon itself.
