The Mecha-Tyhrranoid was a two-legged robot driven by Two-eyed Tyhrranoids. Thanks to Nefarious' aversion to "squishies" (organic life-forms), this maniacal mecha used its advanced circuitry to equip the Tyhrranoids with the latest advancements in robotic technical warfare. These Tyhrranoid-operated, lumbering, green mechanical bipeds shot green beams from their laser-equipped arms. Their beams always moved forward along the ground no matter where they aimed, and their attack range was more medium than long.

Despite being effective against the Galactic Rangers during the raid on Veldin, with the aid of Ratchet and Clank, these machines proved ineffective as the Lombax led a counter-attack. These machines were already outdated, lacking the ability to shoot into the air, as their beams were always forced to move across the ground of the battlefield. From Veldin onwards, all Mecha-Tyhrranoids was replaced by Ultra Mecha-Tyhrranoids, with one fighting some Rangers all by itself as a prototype. The Mecha-Tyhrranoid walkers were presumably no longer built.


The Ultra Mecha-Tyhrranoid was an upgrade to the Mecha-Tyhrranoid. One appeared on Veldin as a difficult enemy, although they would go on to appear as regular enemies for the rest of the game.


  • If a Two-Eyed Tyhrranoid in a mech were about to fire the laser, and the player destroyed the mech, the laser will would be fired.
