A moon was a naturally occurring object that orbited a planet or other body larger than itself. Moons could vary in size, atmospheric conditions, climate, indigenous life, and other such categories. Some moons were barren rocks that existed in the vacuum of outer space.

Ratchet explored spherical moons in outer space. Many moons had Plasma Containers scattered throughout the surface.

• In the Polaris Galaxy, the names of some moons were a combination of the name of the sector they appeared in and a letter in the Greek alphabet. For example, in the Bernilius Sector, there was a moon named "Bernilius Alpha".
