The Nano-Swarmers was a glove weapon that deployed hives full of aggressive nanosects which stung Ratchet's enemies to death. Each pod had a targeting laser to guide the nanosects to their target. This weapon was similar to the Bee Mine Glove, but it used a red laser to target enemies. This laser could be upgraded to freeze enemies with the Zero-Kelvin Laser Diode upgrade. The Nano-Swarmers was a very effective weapon in taking out large groups of weak enemies or one strong foe. However, the Nano-Swarmers was not very useful for large groups of stronger enemies, as the targeting laser could only target enemies one-by-one and sometimes took a while to bring down all of the enemies. The Nano-Swarmers upgraded into the Toxic Swarmers, whose nanosects had a toxic injection of Zanifarian death weasel venom. The effect was similar to the effect gained by Acid Mods.

Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction

In Tools of Destruction the Nano-Swarmers cost 65,000 bolts and were first available at the Pirate Base, Planet Ardolis. The Nano-Swarmers had an ammo capacity of 4 pods that each dealt 143 damage without Raritanium upgrades. With all of the Raritanium upgrades, each pod dealt 356 damage, and had an ammo capacity of 6 pods. With all of the Longer Range upgrades, the Nano-Swarmers' range was huge, long enough to reach across the Imperial Fight Festival arena.

Damage increased by 15% of previous damage every upgrade. Below are the weapon damage without Raritanium upgrades:

Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty

The Nano-Swarmers returned in Quest for Booty, and were one of the six weapons Ratchet lost in the Azorean Sea after being shot from a cannon to Hoolefar Island at the beginning of the game. It was recovered from the Azorean Sea by The Smuggler, who returned it to Ratchet at the beginning of Darkwater Cove.

Location of Zero-Kelvin Laser Diode

The Zero-Kelvin Laser Diode upgrade was found tucked away around a corner shortly after falling into the Lythoin Caves. To get the upgrade, turn left after killing the Pythor, smash the crates, and use a Heliogrub to help find the upgrade.
