The pause menu is a screen that came up whenever the player pressed the "Start" button. It is used when the player has finished playing for the day, or when the player needs a break. It could also be used to change weapons, armor or adjust options. The map menu was a menu that was not accessed through the pause menu, but was essentially a menu map screen.
