The Rakar Star Cluster was a hot location in space that got its name from the fact that there were alot of stars in the area including the one that Ratchet flew around as well as the smaller one that he passed through as he made his way to the bigger one. The pirates had set up many harvesters on the stars that were absorbing the heat from the surface, they could harm Ratchet if he strayed into the fire being sucked up.
