The Ratchet & Clank wiki is a project about the Ratchet & Clank series that anyone can edit. The aim of the site is to provide as much information about the Ratchet & Clank universe covering all of the games, comics, the movie and other material. The content is intended to be presented in a clear, consistent and encyclopaedic style. The Ratchet & Clank wiki currently has 5,440 articles and 4,401 image, video and audio files and is constantly looking to expand the quality and quantity of the content covered in relation to the Ratchet & Clank universe.

History and milestonesEdit

The Ratchet & Clank wiki was started on February 21 2006 by Thai420. Since then it has been run and maintained by the administrators and the open community of editors. The wiki has been hosted on Wikia since its creation and in June 2009 the wiki received big wiki status on Wikia Community Central for reaching the 2,500 article milestone. On 17 August 2012 its big wiki status increased as it reached the 5,000 article milestone.

CommunicationEdit

In addition to communicating on the on-wiki forums and talk pages, the Ratchet & Clank wiki also uses other off-site resources. The wiki has an IRC channel on freenode at #R&C (irc://irc.freenode.com/R&C). It also has a mostly automated Tumblr (http://ratchetwiki.tumblr.com/) account and a YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/RatchetandClankWiki) account. The Ratchet & Clank wiki's Twitter account is kept active and used in conjunction with the community corner and IRC: @RatchetWiki https://twitter.com/RatchetWiki

Wikia promoteEdit

As part of Wikia's promote system several images representing the wiki were uploaded for Wikia's promotional feature. The following text was also provided for the promotion:

"Welcome to the Ratchet & Clank wiki - a Ratchet & Clank encyclopedia that anyone can edit. We have all the information about the games, movie, comics, weapons, gadgets, characters, and the worlds they visit with over 5,000 articles and over 4,000 photos, videos and audio files.
