Robo-Ratchet is one of the final bosses of Secret Agent Clank, fought during "All The Marbles". It is a robotic clone of Ratchet created by Klunk.

History[]

Klunk created Robo-Ratchet on Mariana.[1] Robo-Ratchet was stored with Klunk's other suits in Klunk's villainous lair in his underwater base.

During "All The Marbles" when Clank confronted Klunk on Hydrano to stop his plan, after damaging Robo-Nefarious enough, Klunk unleashed Robo-Ratchet, who rose from a cylindrical glass tube case. Robo-Ratchet proceeded to battle Clank under Klunk's command. Following this, Klunk alternated between the two robotic clones and the Kingpin repeatedly in conjunction with his own combat arts as he fought Clank. Eventually, Clank put all three suits out of commission and defeated Klunk.

Characteristics[]

Robo-Ratchet was a pale imitation of the original. The appendages on his head create unusable CPU code in an esoteric programming language, as Klunk was unsure of their purpose on the actual Ratchet. The counterbalance part of Robo-Ratchet was the most accurate to Ratchet himself. Robo-Ratchet had evil parameters, and its core bogo-sorted random bits of memory in order find progressively more evil settings.[1]

Combat[]

Robo-Ratchet possessed several of Ratchet's weapons: the Sniper Mine and the Agents of Dread for use in combat. His special Dead-Eye Mine was developed by Klunk, upgraded to produce huge explosions.[1] The Agents themselves threw out acid bombs belonging to the Acid Bomb Glove, but otherwise did not act as the actual weapon.

Robo-Ratchet will not often fire his Sniper Mine, but when he does Clank will only barely be able to outrun the quickly-expanding energy field. During combat he otherwise only has to contend with the Agents and their acid bombs, which are not too hard to avoid. The Agents do tend to draw Clank's fire, making the Tie-A-Rang less effective as its damage ends up being split. The Tanglevine Carnation is a good choice as it only attacks Robo-Ratchet, and the Cufflink Bomb and Thunderstorm Umbrella can hit both groups provided either weapon is used at the right time.

Once the PSP version of Secret Agent Clank had been completed, Robo-Ratchet was available as a skin for Ratchet at the price of two titanium bolts.
