- Jetpack Thug: “Satch, what's your status?”
- Satch: “Bored, I ain't killed no one yet.”
- ―A Jetpack Thug and Satch. [ItN]
Raid on the Nebulox
Satch was high-ranking Thugs-4-Less Commander. He saw some action in the jailbreak of Vendra Prog from the Nebulox Seven Prison Ship as it passed through the Cerullean Sector on its way to Vartax Detention Center, where he piloted a Thug Ship.
After the Nebulox Seven Prison Ship had been destroyed, the remaining Thugs-4-Less forces were ordered by Vendra Prog to scour the wreckage in order to kill Ratchet and Clank, who had managed to survive the explosion. Satch had been quite bored throughout the entire engagement, as he hadn't been able to kill anyone. A Jetpack Thug requested back up after Ratchet proved difficult to eliminate. Eager to finally get a chance to kill, Satch moved in on Ratchet and Clank, preparing to slam his Thug Ship into them. Much to his annoyance, Ratchet jumped out of the way as his vessel, and Satch lost him for a while.
After several Jetpack Thugs and another Thug Ship had failed to kill the duo, Satch spotted the duo once again. Popping out of nowhere, Satch once again attempted to bulldoze Ratchet and Clank on another pile of wreckage. Ratchet and Clank; however, dodged the bulldozing yet again, landing on the remains of one of the Nebulox Seven Prison Ship's corridors. Annoyed that he had missed them yet a second time, he quickly turned the ship around. He realized the corridor section that Ratchet and Clank were hiding in was far away from and other floating piles of junk, knowing that Ratchet and Clank were trapped. He moved in toward the corridor and fired a volley of Omnirockets that smashed into the corridor, allowing him to ram into the corridor with full force.
Heading toward Yerek
After ramming into the corridor, Satch scanned the area for signs of Ratchet and Clank. At around this time, he received a transmission from Neftin Prog asking on Ratchet and Clanks status. Detecting no survivors, he informed Neftin that Ratchet and Clank were "space kill." Pleased with his work, Neftin informed Satch that he had just transmitted coordinates to planet Yerek, and ordered him to head to Meero Ruins on the planet, as they had work to do.
In reality, Satch had missed Ratchet and Clank, who were stowing aboard his ship in some Thugs-4-Less Crates. After he arrived at the Meero Ruins on planet Yerek, he unloaded his cargo with the aid of Thugs-4-Less Crate Haulers.
Satch like many Thugs, enjoyed inflicting violence upon others as part of his career at Thugs-4-Less. He particularly enjoyed killing stuff, and would grow bored if he wasn't given such an opportunity. Satch also was quite arrogant, as he boasted several times about killing the "space rat," even believing he had done back at the Nebulox 7 wreckage, when in reality he had not.
Behind the scenes
Satch appears in a transmission between a Jet Pack Thug in Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus as he is piloting his ship when he attempts to kill Ratchet and Clank. In the game's subtitles he is listed simply as "Thug" when he speaks, despite being named in conversation. Satch is also referred to as Commander 1-1-8 in the subtitles of Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus. He is later referred to by this title in a conversation with Neftin Prog.
If the player is unable to escape the corridor when Satch attempts to ram Ratchet and Clank, they perish when the corridor they are hiding on spins out of control and explodes. Pleased at what he sees, Satch informs his comrade that duo are dead, boasting the reward offered by the Progs is his for the taking. With that, he pilots his Thug Ship away from the remains of the Nebulox 7 Prison Ship to collect the bounty reward from the Progs.
