The Shock mod was a weapon modification that, when attached to a weapon, electrocuted foes on contact. The shock mod also sent out arcs of electricity at nearby enemies. Ratchet was not able to modify every weapon with the shock modification.
Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando
The shock mod first appeared in Going Commando and was available at Slim Cognito's black market weapon modification vendors in exchange for platinum bolts. It had to be bought separately for each weapon it was available with.
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
As weapon modifications could no longer be purchased in Up Your Arsenal, the shock modification was applied to some weapons through upgrading.
In Ratchet: Deadlocked, the shock mod was available as an Omega mod. It was first available when the player reached planet Sarathos and it cost 30,000 bolts. Vox Industries' version functioned by applying an eight-gigavolt static electric charge to each ammo round and was originally designed as a party gag for creating static cling on women's undergarments.
