During the final battle against Otto Destruct, Otto was able to get the device from Ratchet and use it himself (since it was originally his), changing his size during the fight and even using it to shrink Qwark.
Description
A remnant of Technomite society, the Shrink Ray can shrink (and grow!) objects to preposterous proportions. More practically, Ratchet can use it to shrink down and enter electromagnetic locks. Once inside, he can use his Grind Boots and OmniWrench 10K to unlock them! While near an Electro-lock, press triangle to enter.
Trivia
- There was a glitch to carry the Shrink Ray anywhere in your hand. Firstly, you had to go to Quodrona. In the room where the floor fell, which had Ratchet Clones, Ratchet dummies and screens of Otto's eyes, you had to change to the Old School suit and use the Shrink Ray while being about to be attacked. After your death, you respawned at the last continue point with the Shrink Ray in your hand. You could still use the Wrench and a weapon/gadget in another quick select slot. You could change weapons by selecting one when having the Shrink Ray in your hand. Be careful, as selecting another one while having the already equipped weapon made the Shrink Ray disappear.
