"Thugs-4-Less - If it ain't broke, we'll break it."
―The Leader talking to the Thief.[src]

The Thug Leader[1] was the leader of the Thugs-4-Less, a leading crime syndicate of the Bogon Galaxy and one of the main antagonists of the second game. The Thief first hired his team of men to prevent Ratchet from stealing the Protopet back from her.

BiographyEdit

Ratchet & Clank: Going CommandoEdit

Thugs for HireEdit

The Thug Leader made his first appearance after being contacted by the Thief who had abducted the Protopet from Megacorp. The thief claimed she was in the market for some security, immeditately sparking the interest of the Leader, and hired him to send his best men to meet her at the Megacorp outlet

Battles with Ratchet and ClankEdit

Ratchet first encountered him on planet Endako, where the latter attempted to kill the Lombax in his helicopter. Failing in this attempt, the Thug tried again later in a large mechanical suit during the Megacorp Games qualification, but was once more defeated by Giant Clank, who had been sent by the Mathematician.

After failing to defeat Ratchet twice, the Thug Leader broke his contract with Angela, aka the thief, when Megacorp hired him to frame Ratchet for the attempted murder of Abercrombie Fizzwidget. The substantial amount of bolts he was offered allowed him to forget about this sudden "conflict of interests" between his two agreements. During this transfer of priorities, he also took hold of The Thief's Flying Lab and refitted it to become the Thugs-4-Less prison. Determined to rub out Ratchet and Clank for good, he ordered Thugs-4-Less to go on high alert, and made their termination a top priority (Even offering a free pizza party to the squad who made the kill). The Thug Leader was successful in capturing the duo in what he mistakenly assumed was an attempt to assassinate Mr. Fizzwidget (It was actually a robotic double of him) and sent them to the prison on Aranos. However, Ratchet & Clank soon managed to escape. The Thugs-4-Less leader later kidnapped Angela on Gorn on the Thugs-4-Less fleet and fled with her before the duo could stop him.

Ratchet retaliated by annihilating the his's fleet, infuriating him to the point where he sent a transmission to Ratchet and ranted against him for ruining his business ventures. Unfortunately, he made the mistake of placing the coordinates of his homeworld and HQ in plain sight of the duo, prompting them to pursue him to the planet Snivelak. The Leader held Angela hostage in his Giganto-Mech suit in his final attempt to kill Ratchet, but was defeated after being crushed by the debris of his Giganto-Mech of which malfunctioned at the hands of Ratchet's heavy weaponry. Angela, after being rescued, then revealed to Ratchet a transmission of the Thug Leader where he had been last seen before being defeated, showing a video of him demanding a bigger part of the action surrounding the Protopet.

Spin off gamesEdit

Secret Agent ClankEdit

PrisonEdit

asked Ratchet if he remembered him and if he knew what it felt like to hit the ground from 800 feet, referring to their fight on Endako. He then pulled out a gun and said he was about to find out, but strangely did not fight Ratchet, and instead sent his Thugs-4-Less troopers to kill him, but were all defeated by the Lombax.

TriviaEdit

  • Thugs-4-Less Leader doesn't seem to be good with numbers, because he stated in one cutscene that Distribution facility on planet Smolg contains 10 million crates, each with 100 protopets inside, and that it would make 3.5 zillion protopets. However, the real number of protopets would be only 1 billion.
  • Ironically, the Thugs-4-Less Leader also told his organization that if they were no good with numbers, they had to find a buddy to help them with finding the Feltzin System in Sector 12345.
