The Tractor Beam was a Megacorp gadget prototype manufactured on Oozla by a scientist. It was a close range gadget and pulled certain objects with a special marking on it towards Ratchet, allowing him to move them around. It also 'propelled' grenades and even robots that had the special marking on them.
